B i o g r a p h y

Rebecca gained her early musical training at Wells Cathedral School where she attended as a Music Scholar. She completed her Bachelor's Degree at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she also won First Prize in the Needlemakers Woodwind Competition, and gained her Masters Degree at the Royal Academy of Music.

Rebecca has played as Principal Flute, Sub Principal Flute and Principal Piccolo with many of the UK's leading orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,  Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and English National Ballet Orchestra.

Post Lockdown, Rebecca decided to change direction and took up the position as Woodwind Instructor for the Dumfries and Galloway Instrumental Music Service. Since moving to Galloway, Rebecca has established several flourishing chamber music groups whilst maintaining her teaching, solo and artistic endeavours.

Rebecca gained extensive teaching experience during her years living in London and Bournemouth where she taught piano and other woodwind instruments privately and in schools.

Known for her empathy, open mind and patience, Rebecca is a passionate teacher who is completely dedicated to her students and their welfare.

She believes her lessons are a safe space for students to explore their creativity and be themselves. 

Rebecca's philosophy is that music brings us together and creates harmony within ourselves, therefore she uses mindful teaching techniques to ensure her students get the best out of every lesson.
